Back to Basics - Saturday, October 13, 2007
Yo!
Well, yeah I have written for ages and admittedly haven't updated the site in a while, but it has been finally! My new acoustic album, compiled from older, rough albums and of brand spanking new songs is now on here, so woop!
As for news with me, I have a very new and updated myspace page if you haven't noticed, at www.myspace.com/annamcnicholl
Also, I have jumped into the world of theatre by being appointed Musical Director of the up and coming play 'Hamletmachine' - a physical theatre inspired, dark and intense experience not to be missed! Showing at the University of Birmingham in November this year, do not miss out!
ALSO, I have been gigging in and around Birmingham, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire. Mostly I'm sticking to the Selly Oak area, including playing at a fundraiser at the Bristol Pear, to find out more about this event find me on facebook and add me and I'll fix you up with the details.
Right, enough updates? I think so. Schweet!
Play safe kids,
Anna McNicholl

I'm alive & kicking, honest! - Saturday, January 06, 2007
Hi all,
Figured I better put something up as I haven't since last May! Well as you may have noticed, the website has had a lovely makeover, it's now very colourful! I have also added photos and changed the music around quite a bit.
The site now features the album 'From The Window', an acoustic, Joanna Newsom/Damien Rice inspired album which I'm in the process of writing and recording, (check out the latest audio I' ve added to it, 'Water Baby'!) I have also finished recording the studio version of 'Storytelling' which I'm now selling.
As for gigging, I'm going to be playing around Birmingham quite a bit very soon as I've been invited to a few Open Mic nights, and even a charity event in March. I'm also going to see if I can get playing at some of the folk festivals in summer, so my musical future looks set to be pretty fun, hopefully!
I'll keep better in touch, spread the word!

The Wheels Are In Motion!! - Tuesday, May 23, 2006 - Monday, June 26, 2006
Hey hey!!
Oh yes, finally the recording session is taking place, the date has been set and so the proper version of the album, 'Storytelling' will soon be finished! It's been a long time writing, arranging and rehearsing all the songs but hopefully it'll all be worth it!
So, it's pencilled in the diaries for the 29th, that's the instrumental recordings, ergo the guitar, drums and bass, and after I'll go in and do the vocals over. When it's all completed I'll hopefully be doing some gigging in and around Brackley over the Summer, so yay for that!!
Thanks to the increasing number of website members, your support is greatly appreciated!
Love, Anna McNicholl xxxx

Recording Session - Friday, April 21, 2006 - Monday, June 26, 2006
Okay, I've had quite a few queries about when I'll have the new recordings with the full band done, well unfortuantely I didn't have a second to spare in half term, though some good rehearsing was had! I'm just far too busy with school stuff, i.e. approaching exams, coursework etc. to hold the recording session just yet. Instead, it may be as far off as June when I've finished my exams until I get a chance, however, that's not final, I'll keep you posted on dates and things. But I'm still writing more and more acoustic versions of newer songs, such as 'Throw Her Away' which you can listen to.
Also, there are technical difficulties going on with the music player on the 'More Music' page, so I can't upload the acoustic versions of the songs off 'The Journal' onto there just yet, but will be able to soon!

We are up and running! - Thursday, March 30, 2006 - Monday, June 26, 2006
So, I've finally got myself an actual personal website! I've been trying to build one for ages and ages. And here it is, hope you like it, I'm not much of an IT wizz. This is the place for any news with my music, and the latest news is that hopefully we will be recording 'Storytelling' with Steve Pogson during the half term. Also, as it's half term I'm off to Belfast to look at the university next weekend, should be good fun!
Anyways, until I have some better news, goodbye!
Love, Anna McNicholl xxxx
