Anna McNicholl composes both the lyrics and music for her tunes, featured on her numerous acoustic albums and notably on her studio recorded, full band album, 'Storytelling'.

Currently studying Ancient & Medieval History at the University of Birmingham, Anna gigs around the city frequently, mostly in the Selly Oak area.

She has also delved into the world of theatre, currently taking the position as Musical Director in the up & coming play 'Hamletmachine', playing at the university in November.

Merle Joyce has been both a friend and educator to Anna for many years. She co-produced and arranged the album 'Storytelling' with Anna in 2006.

She is a fantastic musician in her own right playing drums, guitar and flute, teaching in Anna's hometown, Brackley in Northamptonshire. She continues to be a greatly influential and supportive musician to Anna, often accompanying her at live events.

Family

Well the best support I could ever want is from my family and friends. Jane and Joe McNicholl are the rents, who have supported me with music from the second I decided to play cello, paying for lessons and driving me around, and really are total legends.

My brothers, Tom and Gavin are also supportive, and also legends. My grandad Ken is a top man, driving me to guitar and flute lessons and just generally being fabulous, as are my grandparents, Eamon and Nuala who have recently moved to our town and are keen to get onto my sites to listen to my songs!

Friends

My best friend for ten years, Sam is a top gal, originally from Colorado, America and a wannabe Doctor, not to mention the most beautiful and brainiest person ever.

Next along is Lindsay (Jeffers) the gal who makes up our threesome, a JD addict and party animal, she's the girl to go for if you wanna go to a great gig! 

Other amazing friends include Claire and Ellen, (the music  buds) who I've known forever, and who are fantastic musicians themselves.

Birmingham friends include my beautiful housemates Hester, Sarah and Nix & some of the guys of 968 who make up our 'crew'.
